RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Maintains high employee morale and low employee turnover through effective and proactive communications and timely problem resolution.&nbsp; Ensures all hiring, counseling, disciplinary and termination procedures are executed in a consistent manner;</li>
<li>Ensures a smooth running operation by enforcing post specific policies and procedures through proper communication and training.&nbsp; May utilize field training staff to assist in executing post-specific training</li>
<li>Maintains a well-organized, clean and effective working area, and ensure all daily, weekly and bi-weekly deadlines are consistently met.&nbsp; Prepares and runs all required reports as directed by managers, reviews such reports in a timely manner with management team, and takes appropriate action as necessary to address any report discrepancies or operational issues</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>Must be able to secure a valid Guard License if required by the state in which you are applying. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the Covello Senior Center. This entry-level role ensures the center is compliant with Department of Health (DOH) and NYC Aging, formerly known as (DFTA) standards. Technicians are expected to work cooperatively, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold high standards of care for our facility and participants.

Essential Responsibilities
Working closely with the Director of the Program you will translate operational goals into effective day-to-day workflows. You’ll provide clinical oversight, administrative support, and direct service delivery to ensure the team meets performance standards and regulatory requirements. Your role includes:

Position Type, Work Schedule 
This is a full-time, non-exempt position at the Covello Older Adult Center. Set 8-hour shifts will fall between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Friday through Tuesday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. You must remain fully accessible during scheduled hours via phone (3cx) and email, aligned with program service needs. 
Physical Requirements
This position is based in a multi-level, older commercial building located in East Harlem and requires the physical ability to perform routine custodial and maintenance duties throughout a four-floor facility. 
Note: The building elevator will be undergoing repairs and will be out of service for approximately two months. During this time, the employee will be required to assist staff with deliveries and the transport of supplies between floors using the stairways.
