Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to clean and maintain the flour mill, including loading and unloading barrels of flour, sweeping, and performing heavy lifting. This position requires a high level of physical stamina and a willingness to work in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep the 9 floors of the production facility
• Load flour into chambers using a shovel (requires lifting over 50 lbs daily)
• Clean and mop any necessary areas
• Assist with order fulfillment
• Clock in at 7 am, receive assignments from the Sanitation Manager, and proceed to the designated area for loading or cleaning
• Ensure punctuality and consistent attendance

Essential Skills

• Manual labor experience
• Production and manufacturing experience
• Cleaning and sanitation experience
• Ability to lift between 50-70 lbs repetitively
• Ability to stand for 10 hours a day
• Comfortable working in a dirty environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in cleaning, loading/unloading product
• Production experience
• Janitorial experience is a plus
• Willingness to work in a hot and loud environment
• References that confirm consistent work ethic and attendance
• Trainable attitude
• Ability to work over 50 hours a week, including Saturdays

Work Environment

The work environment is a large flour mill and distribution center. Candidates should be prepared to be covered in flour daily and work in an old brick building that is typically very warm. Manual labor will be performed on every level of the building. Contractors must wear work pants and shirts, steel toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, and beard nets. Jewelry is not allowed. The shift runs from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, with additional hours on Saturdays from 7 am to 12 pm. Working 50 hours per week is required, with opportunities for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
