We are currently seeking a full-time Entry Level Interior Designer in our Rochester, NY office. This position is responsible for assisting Interior Designers and Architects to develop design solutions, including space relationship analysis, aesthetic and functional requirements that protect the health, safety, and welfare of our clients. They also assist with color, finish, furniture and lighting selections, spatial and furniture layouts.

Job Responsibilities:

Assists more experienced Interior Designers with:

  • Participation in client and team meetings, brainstorming sessions - offering creative input.
  • Professionally communicating design solutions meeting project goals.
  • The creation of presentations, material/mood boards, renderings, and meeting minutes.
  • Research and selection of trends and products to understand limitations, content, durability, cost, and maintenance.
  • Translating design intent into project documentation and ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Reviewing submittals in accordance with project documentation.
  • Communication with the project manager when additional services are requested.

Will also maintain responsibility to:

  • Maintain the materials library and meet with industry representatives.
  • Participate in site visits to document buildings and their existing conditions.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • 90% office setting, 10% active construction site visits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Interior Design or Architecture with basic knowledge of Interior Design.
  • Strong design skills and desire to develop technical expertise.
  • Actively pursuing or has plans to pursue NCIDQ certification
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to maintain high-quality standards and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works well with others and on their own, able to take accountability for tasks, hours, budget and deadlines
  • Knowledge of Revit, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D color renderings along with proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Individual will work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard.
  • Position requires occasional lifting, up to a maximum of 25 pounds

Base Salary Information: $49,182 - $58,260

The above salary ranges represent a good faith range for incumbents of these positions. Actual offers will be based on experience, education level, and demonstrated skills and will be at the discretion of the employer.
