Join Our Team as an Assistant Estimator

Are you from a construction background or a soon-to-be college graduate ready to start your career in estimating? Arris Contracting, a premier non-residential construction management and planning company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Estimator to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in project estimation, including quantity takeoffs, data entry, quote management, and cost analysis.
• Help maintain and update our internal cost database using quotes, proposals, contractor schedule of values and change orders.
• Support the Estimator in communicating effectively with the Owner and A/E team; presenting estimates, and preparing cost comparisons.
• Participate in bid preparation and subcontractor procurement.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Vertigraph Siteworx/OS.
• Prepare estimates using Sage Estimating.
• Create cost summaries using Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam Revu.
• Assist in cost-loading schedules using Primavera P6.
• Assist in reviewing change orders.

What We're Looking For:

• Basic understanding of construction methods, principles, and processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Excel and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong math skills and a knack for problem solving.
• Experience in managing multiple activities and tasks

Qualifications:

• 4-yr college degree preferred but not required. Preferred study concentration in construction management, architecture or engineering.
