Were looking for a talented Microsoft IT Engineer to join our expanding team. This role offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to work both on-site and remotely. As a crucial member of the team, you'll play a key role in managing, supporting, and optimizing our Microsoft-based infrastructure to ensure top-tier system performance, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support Windows Server (20122022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related technologies.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and other cloud-based services.
- Manage and troubleshoot Azure Active Directory and hybrid cloud environments.
- Perform routine system updates, manage patching, and optimize system performance.
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for escalated issues; oversee backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring processes.
- Leverage PowerShell and other automation tools to streamline workflows and tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Ensure all systems adhere to security policies and Microsoft best practices.
- **Compliance Monitoring:** Regularly monitor and ensure compliance with government regulations and policies.
- **Training and Support:** Provide training and support to government employees on IT systems and security protocols.
- **Incident Response:** Develop and implement incident response plans to address security breaches or system failures promptly.
- **Vendor Management:** Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure they meet government standards and deliver quality services.
**Continuous Improvement:** Continuously evaluate and improve IT systems and processes to enhance efficiency and security.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and on-premise Active Directory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint Online.
- Strong scripting skills with PowerShell for automation and task management.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.) and system security best practices.
- Experience working in a managed services or enterprise IT environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- **Knowledge of Government Regulations:** Understanding of government-specific regulations and compliance requirements, such as data privacy laws and cybersecurity standards.
- **Project Management:** Ability to manage IT projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring, to ensure they meet government standards and deadlines.
- **Customer Service:** Strong customer service skills to effectively support government employees and agencies with technical issues.
- **Cybersecurity Expertise:** Proficiency in cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive government data and systems.
