Job DescriptionSet Up Mechanic III
Location: Buffalo, NY
Shift: 1st Shift (Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm)
Pay: $30-$36/hour

Job Summary:
Perform preventative maintenance, set up, and repair complex fabricating machines and equipment. Train and mentor entry/intermediate-level teammates. Ensure equipment runs efficiently and maintain safety standards.
Key Duties:

Set up and repair machinery per diagrams and manuals.

Train co-workers as assigned.

Use hand/power tools to repair/replace parts.

Mount, align, and bolt fixtures and welding heads.

Perform startup/shutdown of equipment.

Adjust controls for proper operation.

Run samples and adjust for defects.

Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance.

Initiate purchase requests for parts/repairs.

Troubleshoot complex issues with technicians/engineering.

Occasionally load heavy materials onto machines.

Train mechanics in minor adjustments/repairs.

Assist with new research and development.

Monitor team work for production support and quality.

Move, assemble, install, or dismantle machinery.

Plan and coordinate new equipment setup.

Demonstrate company core values.
Impact:
Coordinate setup and monitoring of manufacturing machines for continuous production. Communicate with the manager for maintenance approvals and changes.
Safety Responsibilities:
Follow safety rules and promote safety awareness. Report hazards and injuries immediately. Use proper lifting techniques and protective equipment.
Skills/Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Automation, Calibration, Equipment Maintenance, Machine Operation, Manufacturing Support, PLC, Robotics, RF Welding, Injection Molding, Fabrication, and more. Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and operations software.
Knowledge:
High-level tool, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and safety knowledge. Understanding of regulated industries and medical device manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, occasional walking, handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and smelling. Lift/move up to 50 lbs with proper techniques.
Experience:
5+ years related experience.
Education:
High School Diploma/GED required. Associate degree or 2-year Certificate preferred.
