US Regulatory Reporting Data Analyst (Bernstein Institutional Services LLC, New York, NY)

Implement controls and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of CAT reporting. Gain subject matter expertise in FINRA CAT reporting by interpreting industry member reporting scenarios and technical specifications. Understand how CAT reporting requirements apply to U.S. broker dealer business. Work with trade support, external brokers, and reporting vendors, to investigate and repair CAT reporting breaks. Identify regulatory reporting issues by analyzing data in innovative ways. Understand equity trading scenarios and how these are represented in the data models of trading systems. Interpret and specify the impact of business and regulatory change. Work with embedded technology resources to clarify requirements and review software increments and maintain regulatory reporting functional specifications and test scenarios. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to build relationships across multiple teams, e.g. trading, operations, technology, compliance, legal. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days a week. When not telecommuting, must report to Bernstein Institutional Services LLC, 245 Park Ave., New York, NY 10167. Salary: $100,547-$117,000 per year.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field plus 2 years of professional experience as a Financial Analyst, Data Analyst or related occupation/position/job title involving financial data analysis.

Must also have experience in the following: 2 years of professional experience analyzing high-volume data utilizing Python; 2 years of professional experience creating data visualizations for business users using tools including PowerBI and Tableau; 2 years of professional experience joining across database tables and query for specific rows and fields using SQL; 2 years of professional experience summarizing complex issues and extract relevant detail for presentation to senior stakeholders; 2 years of professional experience writing functional requirements for interpretation by data analysts and developers; 2 years of professional experience utilizing MS Excel to filter data and write formulas to calculate derived fields; and 2 years of professional experience clearly communicating technical details on CAT reporting issues from external vendors, brokers and trading venues.
