Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated associate attorney with 3+years of experience to join our team, focusing on international estate and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and families.
About the Role:
In this role, you will work closely with clients and advisors across the globe to address complex cross-border wealth transfer, tax, and compliance matters. The work involves structuring international and domestic trusts, navigating inbound and outbound planning issues, and advising on U.S. tax and reporting obligations related to foreign assets and beneficiaries.
What You'll Do:
Advise international and U.S.-based clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
Structure and implement cross-border wealth planning strategies, including trust and holding company arrangements
Address pre-immigration and expatriation tax planning
Analyze international tax treaties, FATCA, and CRS implications
Coordinate with advisors in multiple jurisdictions
Draft and review sophisticated estate planning documents and opinion letters
Support compliance with U.S. reporting obligations (e.g., Forms 3520, 5471, 8938)
What We're Looking For:
3–6 years of relevant private client or international estate planning experience at a law firm or boutique practice
LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is preferred but not required
Strong academic credentials and excellent writing and communication skills
Admission to the New York Bar
Foreign language skills and international background a plus
