About the Role:
We’re hiring one in-person Teacher's Assistant to provide push-in classroom support for kindergarten students at PS 118 Lorraine Hansberry. This role involves working closely with teachers to reinforce early literacy and math skills, provide individualized attention to students who need extra support, and create a structured and nurturing learning environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist teachers with small-group instruction and student engagement.
- Support early literacy and math development through interactive learning activities.
- Provide individual attention to students who need additional academic or behavioral support.
- Help create a positive and structured classroom environment.
- Supervise and assist students during transitions and classroom activities.
Schedule:
- Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Time: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Duration: April 21, 2025 – May 30, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
- Key Dates Off:
- May 26 – Memorial Day
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and instructional support.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to engage and encourage young learners.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom needs and follow teacher guidance.
