The Long Island Mental Health Counseling Group, PC is a group private practice dedicated to providing individualized treatment to individuals of all ages, couples and families. We offer person-centered counseling services in a supportive and nurturing environment to assist in the growth of our clients. We help clients reach their potential and live a meaningful, and fulfilling life.
We are currently hiring for both our Smithtown and Bethpage offices. Clinicians will treat patients with common diagnoses of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, etc. As a LICG affiliated therapist, you are supported by a highly-motivated team. You will be able to focus your energy on patient outcomes, while LICG handles all aspects of administrative support. LICG will credential you with insurance companies and will provide all advertising for you. We provide ongoing patient referrals and schedule your appointments; we give you access to a telehealth platform to conduct your sessions; and then we process all of the patient billing, as well as submitting and resolving insurance claims.
Requirements: Licensed by New York State as a Mental Health Counselor LMHC or eligible for mental health counseling permit. (We cannot accept LMSW, LCSW, etc)
Additional certifications preferred but not required (CCTS, EMDR, CBT)
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
Previous experience providing treatment services to children, adolescents, and families
Strong comprehensive problem-solving skills
Excellent engagement and communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Minimum of 15 sessions per week required for part time
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial intake sessions to gather personal, emotional and psychological history.
- Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, presenting concerns and therapeutic goals.
- Provide evidence based counseling sessions tailored to clients' needs
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize effective communication and motivational interviewing skills to support patient progress.
- Guide clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms, mindfulness practices, and tools for managing daily stressors.
- Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries.
