We are seeking a highly skilled CNC 5-Axis Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex blueprints and tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and program 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce precision components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software (such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, or Fusion 360) to create and modify machining programs.
- Perform tool selection, fixture setup, and workpiece alignment to optimize machining efficiency.
- Monitor machining processes to ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
- Troubleshoot machine issues, tool wear, and program errors to maintain productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following company policies and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with a focus on 5-axis machining.
- Strong proficiency in G-code programming and CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Heidenhain, or Siemens).
- Experience with high-precision machining in aerospace, medical, or similar industries.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models.
- Familiarity with CNC tooling, feeds & speeds, and machining strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAM programming (Mastercam, Powermill, or similar software).
- Knowledge of 5-axis simultaneous machining and complex surfacing.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
