Clean Room Technician - Position Summary:
Our client, a vendor that supplies semiconductor manufacturing equipment to IBM, is looking for a Clean Room Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating equipment in a clean room environment, supporting process development, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Operate and maintain semiconductor processing tools including photolithography, etching, deposition, and metrology equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, equipment calibrations, and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor environmental controls to maintain clean room specifications (e.g., temperature, humidity, particle count).
- Handle chemicals and gases in accordance with safety and clean room protocols.
- Assist engineering staff with process development, experiments, and data collection.
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, equipment status, and incidents.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshooting efforts.
- Ensure compliance with IBM and industry-standard clean room procedures (ISO standards, EHS regulations).
Clean Room Technician - Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Microelectronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working in a clean room or controlled laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication processes and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Ability to wear clean room garments (bunny suit) and work extended hours in a clean room setting.
- Flexibility to work in shifts or weekends as needed.
**Preferred:**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Experience with data logging, SPC (Statistical Process Control), or equipment software interfaces.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to chemical handling and clean room protocols.
