Mail Operator Position Overview:
We are seeking an Inserting Operator to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining automated inserting technology to produce mail pieces and prepare them for the Post Office. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality and productivity.
Mail Operator Highlights
- Schedule: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
- Overtime may be available but is not required.
- This position is a contract assignment with the potential to be hired permanently based on attendance, performance, and business needs
Mail Operator Responsibilities:
- Operate automated inserters to insert printed materials such as letters or booklets into envelopes.
- Use folding machines, cutters, and bindery equipment to assist with mail production.
- Maintain machines by following the provided maintenance schedule.
- Monitor and inspect pieces during production, making adjustments as necessary to ensure machines continue to run smoothly.
- Ensure all work complies with HIPAA standards and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain an optimal level of productivity and quality.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Mail Operator Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing, retail, or mail production facility.
- Previous experience operating mechanical inserters or troubleshooting machine issues is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a loud environment, with most team members using earbuds or headphones.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
Mail Operator Compensation:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $18
Mail Operator Work Environment:
- The work environment is loud, but the team is small, supportive, and collaborative. Team members are down-to-earth, and the dress code is casual.
