Job Summary:
The Operator Technician Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Operator Technicians, becoming an expert in the production line machines and equipment, and coordinating with the Production team and Maintenance Mechanics to ensure smooth and continuous operations. The Operator Technician Supervisor is responsible for learning and executing the machine setups and tooling for a wide variety of raw material packaging, including building the SOP’s for tooling based on product density and flow rate. In this role, you will be a valuable part of our production team, ensuring our production quotas are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand all filler machine functionality
- Train all Operator Technicians on the setup for initial run and complete all tooling changeovers throughout the scheduled shift
- Be the first line of troubleshooting machine issues along with their Operator Technicians, relying on Maintenance Mechanic for PM’s and larger issues
- Apply mechanical skills and abilities to tooling setups and changeovers on all filler machines
- Understand how to operate each filler machine and be able to support Line Leaders in keeping the machines running smoothly
- Expedite changeovers to reduce downtime
- Support Line Leaders and Line Workers in keeping their lines running smoothly, in coordination with the Production Supervisors and Production Manager
- Create and build on SOP’s for setups and changeovers on each machine
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP and SQF programs

Supervisory Responsibility:
The Operator Technician Supervisor supervises all Operator Technicians. Supervisory responsibilities include making personnel change recommendations; assisting in hiring decisions; instructing and training in work methods; conducting regular communication meetings with the staff; planning, scheduling, and assigning work; checking and approving work; participating in performance evaluations; recommending salary adjustments; making effective recommendations regarding personnel & processes; conducting approved disciplinary actions; making recommendations to terminate unsatisfactory employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers
- Physically able to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing
- Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
Experience, Education, and Training -
- High school diploma/GED required
- 5+ years in a mechanical position, including technician, operator, or mechanic
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered
- Food & Beverage or perishable goods industry experience highly desirable

- To see, talk, and hear
- The employee is required to stand for up to 8 hours, and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type
- The employee is also required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb mezzanine stairs multiple times per day, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee is required to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Strong aromas of spice, allergens, and particles in the air
