About the Role:
The Lead of Technology Training is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive training programs that elevate staff technological skills across the organization. You will leverage your expertise in instructional design, technical writing, and technology systems to create engaging and effective learning experiences. This role involves developing training materials for in-person, blended, and online learning, collaborating with department leaders to assess training needs, and implementing best practices in adult learning and technical education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Design & Delivery:
- Design and deliver engaging, needs-based training on technology systems, including Epic, hardware, and software.
- Develop comprehensive training materials, including guides, job aids, e-learning modules, and instructional videos.
- Implement train-the-trainer programs to empower department leaders to train their teams effectively.
- Stay informed about best practices in technical training and adult learning methodologies.
- Training Program Administration:
- Work with individual departments to develop a tailored training structure.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive training schedule across all departments.
- Track and analyze training participation and effectiveness, producing reports on key training metrics.
- Identify gaps in current training programs and recommend strategic improvements.
- Market training opportunities internally and clearly communicate the value of training to staff.
- Manage training-related budgets, materials, and equipment efficiently.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Partner with department managers to assess staff technology skill levels and identify specific training needs.
- Evaluate post-training feedback to continuously improve instructional methods and content.
- Represent the Technology Department in cross-functional discussions and projects.
- Attend professional development workshops and maintain expertise in emerging training technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Work Schedule
Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. The schedule will include normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 9:00-5:00pm). Occasional evenings may be required. This is a hybrid position and you will be required to come onsite up to 3 days a week.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum Associate’s Degree in training and development, instructional design, technology and information systems, or a related field
- 3 plus years experience as a Training Coordinator, Training Facilitator, Trainer, technical writer or a similar role.
- 2 plus years experience working with Epic or as an Epic trainer
- Experience developing training for diverse audiences with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Experience in healthcare technology training or working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.
- Medical, dental, and/or behavioral health background.
- Experience with other HIT systems, such as Artera, Azara, Healthix, Dragon, Ritefax, XV Web
- Experience with project management tools, such as SmartSheets
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ communities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and e-learning tools.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning management systems (LMS).
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible training content.
- Strong public speaking, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers.
- Expertise in traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
- Ability to assess and analyze data.
