Vice President, Security & Facilities Position Description
The Adirondack Trust Company

This is a hybrid role that reports directly to the SVP, COO and is responsible for the maintenance and maximization of the company’s facilities infrastructure assuring that all facilities related machinery, equipment, buildings, utilities, and grounds are in proper, safe, and reliable conditions. This role is also responsible for the overall physical security, security strategy, policies, and standards ensuring the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the company’s facilities and the security of property and assets.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansions.
  • Plans budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates
  • Inspect construction and installation progress
  • Initiates and manages planned and preventative maintenance programs for a variety of facility including HVAC and office equipment
  • Supervises the Company’s Service staff
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess, identify and mitigate any physical security vulnerabilities or gaps
  • Implement staff training and establish operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events
  • Manage and maintain systems, alarms, and other physical security measures
  • Leads and directs significant investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or associate’s degree with 10 years of direct facilities management/security experience.

  • Demonstrated capability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, and outside bank personnel.
  • Communicate Orally.
  • Normal daily physical activities include walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to read reports and use a computer.
  • Occasionally will lift 20-30 pounds (files, cash drawer, etc.)
