As Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing supervision of plant team members in the daily attainment of scheduled production plans for each assigned area (i.e. box culvert, pre-stress, pipe and wet cast). The Plant Manager works together with the Regional Operations Manager, sales, engineering, production scheduler and production team members to schedule and produce product to meet specifications and customer expectations. The following are some duties and responsibilities of a Plant Manager:
• Oversee operations to ensure safety
• Develop plans that help operations run smoothly
• Manage production
• Create and manage budgets
• Recruit, train and onboard new employees
• Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste
• Analyze data and create reports to present to executives regarding processes
• Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement
• Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage
• Perform routine safety checks on equipment
Skills
• Proven work experience as a Plant Manager
• Proven managerial experience
• Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
• Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
• Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
• Computer literacy
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
• Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
• BS degree in Business Management or related field
