JOB TITLE: FACILITY/GROUNDS PERSON

PROGRAM: Agency

STATUS: Part-Time

FLSA DESIGNATION: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Facility Manager

DEGREE: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year in maintenance and facilities repair

SALARY: $20.00 per hour


The Facility Maintenance position is responsible for supporting all aspects of maintenance at all building sites of Pinnacle Community Services, Inc., (PCS).

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Valid New York State Driver’s License and Registration

  • Vehicle to transport equipment to different Agency sites
  • Flexible schedule
  • Emergency availability

SKILLS:

  • Ability to handle general building maintenance and repair

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Makes routine repairs to facilities such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, routine electrical, which include bending, lifting, carrying and hauling etc.
  • Assists and consults in routine maintenance related issues.
  • Transports Agency equipment, furniture, and files.
  • Transports Agency donations.
  • Reports any safety or maintenance issues to Facility Manager.
  • Provides tools for assignments when the Agency does not have the required equipment.
  • Handles emergency repairs (such as a break-in, flooding, etc.)
  • Makes recommendations for contractors when required
  • Maintain building smoke and CO2 detectors, replacing batteries and units as required
  • General landscaping and grounds keeping such as lawn mowing/edging, pruning, leaf removal and weeding
  • Janitorial duties including weekly trash pickup, window and wall washing, wall unit air conditioner installation, etc.
  • Changes light bulbs as needed, which involves climbing up and down ladders
  • Sweeps, mops, waxes and polishes floors as needed
  • Sets up and takes down equipment for meetings and other activities
  • Monitors buildings and reports any maintenance needs to Supervisor
  • If necessary cleaning of bathrooms and offices, including vacuuming and garbage removal
  • Provides snow removal and salting of all Agency buildings’ sidewalks, stairways, porches, and parking areas when needed
  • Meets on a regular, planned basis with Facility Manager for supervision
  • Maintains confidentiality of Agency
  • Performs other duties assigned by Administration

AGENCY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Attends and participates in appropriate agency staff trainings and meetings
  • Advocates for cultural diversity/sensitivity as appropriate
  • Experience and knowledge on the use of computers, cell phones and a broad understanding of using the Internet and e-mail in the workplace
