LaGuardia Community College seeks a creative, visionary, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the Executive Director of the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC). Reporting to the President and Chief of Staff, the Executive Director will oversee LPAC’s programming and operations, lead fundraising, marketing, and audience development, and serve as the chief spokesperson and advocate for the organization.&nbsp;
Since its founding in 1978, LPAC has been a resource for the LaGuardia community and a hub for vibrant and engaging theatrical, musical, and dance productions reflecting the broad range of cultural, artistic, and creative voices that distinguish the dynamic borough of Queens.&nbsp;
A longtime, prominent performing arts organization in Long Island City, LPAC is at an inflection point in its history, following the retirement of its former Executive Director, and at a moment when the college, under new leadership, recently developed a new strategic plan. Duties &amp; Responsibilities&nbsp;
The following duties are not exhaustive but illustrate the general duties required of the position. The position reports to the College’s Chief of Staff, who may direct the Executive Director to perform duties in addition to those contained in this document.
Organizational Management and Oversight
<ul>
<li>Serve as an inspiring leader, o¿ering support, direction and guidance to the LPAC staff.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li>
<li>In collaboration with the SVP of Administration and Finance, manage LPAC's annual budget, ensuring operations remain within financial limits and all reporting and other administrative obligations are met.</li>
<li>Manage revenues and expenses in accordance with LPAC's annual budget and the college's accounting systems and policies;</li>
<li>Meet financial goals and maintain high standards of financial management and reporting.</li>
<li>Direct LPAC's operations, including program production, audience development, facilities management and maintenance, events management, and financial and business management.</li>
<li>Manage facility usage, venue scheduling, and space rentals with the college and external stakeholders. Oversee schedule coordination and establish procedures to accommodate performances and events.</li>
<li>Evaluate systems and implement improvements to increase efficiency.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Develop and implement organizational processes, policies, and procedures.&nbsp;</li>

Contributed and Earned Revenue Growth
<ul>
<li>Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan, securing philanthropic gifts, sponsorships, government grants, and strategic partnerships.</li>
<li>Increase earned revenue from performances, venue rentals, and public programs.</li>
<li>Identify and secure new earned and contributed revenue sources.</li>
<li>Significantly reduce LPAC’s historic dependence on operating subsidies from the college.</li>
</ul>
Programming and Events
<ul>
<li>Provide strategic direction, establish priorities, and clearly define goals for LPAC’s programming.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Humanities Department, in particular with faculty from the Theatre, Film and Television, and Music Performance programs, to ensure that LPAC supports LaGuardia’s students’ needs and their educational progress.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Office of Academic Affairs, Academic Departments, the Division of Student Affairs, and other college divisions, departments, and units to meet their diverse needs.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Coordinate the performance contracting process for commercial and rental events; Review, amend, and approve contracts; Ensure requirements are satisfied as required.</li>
<li>Collaborate with college faculty and leadership to maximize opportunities for student involvement in LPAC programs in order to promote experiential learning, mentorship, and professional development.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Marketing, Communications, and Outreach
<ul>
<li>In coordination with the college’s Office of Communications and External Affairs, plan and promote public relations, marketing, and media relations activities to publicize LPAC and its programming.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Serve as a confident and knowledgeable public speaker on behalf of LPAC.</li>
<li>Identify, establish, develop, and maintain relationships with business, political, and other community leaders to create partnerships and secure resources for LPAC.</li>

Institutional Research Manager

Program Manager POSITION SUMMARY Science, Society and Culture (SSC) seeks a program manager to help develop and manage our portfolio of grantmaking. This person's primary, but not sole, focus will be Science Sandbox, the SSC division's flagship, incubatory grantmaking program. Developed in 2016, Science Sandbox is an initiative of SSC that identifies emerging projects at the vanguard of public engagement with science and provides catalytic funding as well as organizational and individual growth programs. Science Sandbox's portfolio of active awardees is between approximately 40 to 50 organizations across a spectrum of disciplines. The program manager will seek and develop proposals for funding, primarily for Science Sandbox but also for select opportunities within the broader SSC division. Working closely with the program director and senior VP for SSC, the program manager will have an active role in shaping the division's grantmaking portfolio. This person will also help strengthen our post-award processes, including reporting, informal mid-year check-ins, select site visits, and awardee off-boarding. Working with the program director and the program specialist for SSC, the program manager will also have a role in the pre-award process, including shaping key milestones and deliverables for specific grants. This position will not involve work on any of the SSC division's media initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a mix ofrelevant academic and practitioner experience in creative science outreach and engagement. Day-to-day priorities will include discovering, vetting, and recommending potentialScience Sandbox grants. This person will also need to develop and maintain relationships with awardees, as well as with internal stakeholders at the Simons Foundation. A demonstrated passion for, and experience in, public engagement with science is critical. The ideal candidate will have keen interpersonal communication skills, comfort with speaking on behalf of the foundation, and a keen eye for identifying organizations and individuals with great ideas that are boundary-pushing in the field of science engagement. <li>Develop, in collaboration with the senior VP and the program director of SSC, the SSC grantmaking portfolio, including Science Sandbox. This includes actively seeking and developing proposals for funding. </li>
<li>Manage the post-award process for Science Sandbox and select SSC awardees, including overseeing reporting and completing mid-year progress check-ins. </li>
<li>Provide strategic consultation on select SSC initiatives, including Science Sandbox, the Bridge Grant, and more. </li>
<li>Provide advisement on key pre-award processes, including the development of grant milestones and deliverables. </li>
<li>Act as an ambassador for SSC and the Simons Foundation at external events, including the annual SSC Summit, conferences, social events, and more. </li>
<li>Conduct awardee site visits within NYC and across the country when necessary. </li>
<li>Work with the program director and senior vice president on the development of new funding mechanisms on an ad hoc basis, including developing and overseeing calls for funding. </li>
<li>Advise on the Science Sandbox and SSC division grant budget. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education </li>
<li>Bachelor's degree — a focus on science or public engagement with science is required. Experience </li>
<li>At least 7years' combined relevant experience. </li>
<li>Experience with managing grant making processes and maintaining relationships with grantees. </li>
<li>Experience advising on grantmaking decisions. </li>
<li>Familiarity with key research principles in the field of public engagement with science. Required skills and experience: </li>
<li>Ability to prioritize and adapt to the demands of projects, while meeting deadlines across all active projects andremaining flexible, calm, and focused. </li>
<li>Enthusiasm about the initiative's mission, with a demonstrated passion for the importance of science to society and creative science outreach. </li>
<li>Impeccable communication and organizational skills, with a specific focus on attention to detail, high emotional intelligence, and an ability to speak comfortably and clearly with scientists, awardees, and the public. </li>
<li>Experience with project management software and ability to learn new systems/platforms quickly. </li>
<li>Ability to speak publicly and articulately on behalf of a large, multifaceted organization. Act as an ambassador for the mission of SSC and the Simons Foundation, more broadly. </li>
<li>Ability to build and maintain networks for sourcing new projects. </li>

Position: Chief Financial Officer
Summary and Purpose of Position:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the President and is a senior member of the executive cabinet. The chief financial officer of the College and is responsible for managing the College’s operating and capital budgets, capital projects, coordinating the budget and resource allocation process, accounting and financial management, cash management, formulating financial policies, and implementing procedures and internal controls that ensure the financial integrity of the College. The CFO has supervision over finance, grants, fundraising, administrative services, Payroll and other areas.
Primary Functions:
<ul>
<li>Directs the overall financial plans, multi-year forecasts and accounting practices of the College in direct support of the College mission, goals and strategic plan.</li>
<li>Assesses institutional performance against both the annual budget and the College’s strategic plan, implementing a portfolio of revenue opportunities.</li>
<li>Oversees all accounts, ledgers and financial reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, regulatory requirements and internal control processes.</li>
<li>Oversees annual institutional budget process ensuring that all financial resources are expended in support of the College’s mission, goals and strategic plan.</li>
<li>Identifies current and anticipated fiscal challenges and opportunities and advises the Executive Cabinet, President, Trustees, Sponsor, and College community of effective strategies to maintain fiscal strength.</li>
<li>Provides oversight and direction to the administrative functions of the College including finance, grants, fundraising, administrative services, and other areas.</li>
<li>Ensures compliance with relevant College, Board of Trustees, SUNY, and State and Federal education policies.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned by the President of the College.</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree required from a regionally accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field and substantial experience in business, financial or public administration, preferably within higher education.</li>
<li>At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, financial analysis/management and budgetary control; demonstrated accomplishments in maintaining administrative/financial controls while actively supporting entrepreneurial initiatives is desirable; knowledge of accounting and financial management for public institutions is preferred.</li>
<li>Ability to interpret and apply state and federal laws and regulations governing financial procedures.</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively with a diverse and multi-cultural student body and staff.</li>
<li>Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the philosophy and mission of a community college.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>A license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and experience administering the full range of finance, and general administration functions in a higher education setting.</li>
<li>Effective leader and team builder, creative thinker who embraces change and is skillful at encouraging collaboration among colleagues and peers.</li>
<li>Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.</li>
