The Student Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing support for the daily operations of the Student Accounts Office; payment collection and processing, cash management, resolving discrepancies.
 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Service the Student Accounts Office counter; answer questions, collect payments, distribute payroll checks to students.
• Assist with student billing, refunds, and financial clearance of registration.
• Balance and prepare the daily bank deposit and bring to the bank.
• Assist in student new hire paperwork
• Regulate cash drawer.
• Generate reports and monitor online tuition payments. 
• General office clerical work.
• Other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or relevant experience in accounting or related field preferred. Experience in higher education environment is a plus. Working knowledge of PC based computer system and spreadsheet software required (Microsoft Office). Individual must be able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and prioritizing skills will be necessary.
Note: Due to the driving/ travel requirements, this position is subject to the College’s Motor Vehicle Use Policy and the employee will be required to sign a release for a Motor Vehicle Report upon hire. This release will remain in effect through the duration of employment unless revoked in writing. Motor Vehicle Report checks are conducted annually by the College.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Social Services, the Peer Specialist provides and documents individualized services to assigned clients/tenants and promotes their self-determination, decision making and ability to live independently. 
 
<ul>
<li>Provides services and support for clients including but not limited to assessment, problem-solving, skills modeling, advocacy, training on daily living skills, and money management skills development. </li>
<li>Conducts field work including but not limited to home visits, escorting clients to appointments, and outreach. </li>
<li>Maintains and submits all necessary documents and reports as required by Urban Pathways, regulatory and funding agency policies, procedures, and regulations. </li>
<li>Attends staff meetings, professional training, and supervisory sessions, as required. </li>
<li>Maintains relationships with community services and resources. </li>
<li>Performs all other duties as assigned. </li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High School diploma or GED required.  </li>
<li>Completion of Peer Advocacy/Specialist Training Program preferred. </li>
<li>Experience using behavioral health services (mental health, co-occurring substance use treatment) and/or involvement in the justice system. </li>
<li>Clean drivers license a plus. </li>
<li>Veterans and/or experience with veterans preferred. </li>
<li>Experience with homeless, people living with mental health condition and substance abuse population preferred. </li>
<li>Good computer skills and/or ability to learn computer programs including Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and client data programs such as AWARDS.  </li>
<li>Good written and verbal communication skills. </li>
<li>Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team. </li>
<li>Foreign languages a plus. </li>
